The start of May features warm, sunny weather

The greenhouse plots and garden plots seem to be all staked. If you think the soil in your plot is dry enough to work with, soil preparation can begin.

Our home page picture features magnolias in bloom in Terrace, on May 1st. Later some pictures of the first edibles of the season might be taken. That selection would include some tasty "weeds".

We are designing a new sign. Ideas for the NRCG sign should be sent in by the 15th, and will be voted on at the end of May.

Remember the garage sale is coming up on May 9 8 am to noon at Joan’s house. Set up Friday May 8 6:30 pm. Bring you better white elephants to her place that week. Please bake a batch of cookies, muffins, squares, cupcakes, etc. to sell that morning. We also will have coffee for sale. Helpers are welcome for the friday setup, and for manning the sale in the morning.

Boyd set up a NRCG table at the Healthy Food Expo at the Old Church (10am-1pm) April 25. The Healthy Food Expo was sponsored by the Community Cancer Care Group, featured an interesting talk by Kathy Marion-Orienti and a fabulous selection of healthy foods for the lunch. Several interesting community groups set up tables at the event.

The next meeting will be 7pm, Wednesday May 27 at Jean's house.
